Winding resistance
Wire wound resistors are made of copper wire or manganese copper wire wound around an insulating skeleton. It has many advantages: high temperature resistance, high precision, high power. But its frequency modulation characteristic is poor, which is mainly due to the large distributed inductance. It is widely used in low frequency precision instrument

Description

Wire wound resistors are made of nichrome wire or manganese copper wire or copper wire wound on a porcelain tube. They are either fixed or adjustable.

Wire wound resistor is characterized by high precision of resistance value, low noise, stable and reliable, can withstand high temperature, and can still work normally at the ambient temperature of 170℃. But it is large, low resistance, mostly below 100 kω. In addition, due to structural reasons, its distributed capacitance and inductance coefficient are relatively large, can not be used in high frequency circuit. This type of resistance is usually used in high power circuits for buck or load.
